What is a Survival Sack?
What does each Survival Sack contain? (The homeless consist of both men and women, so consider that when providing gender-specific items.)
Note: Items in bold are what we need; crossed-through items we have enough of for this year. Other items we’re close to getting what we need but could use more. – This will change, so please check list periodically.
1 deodorant - 3.5 oz. – especially for use by both men and women
1 bar of soap - 3 oz.
2+ disposable razors
1 tube of toothpaste - 7.2 oz.
1 bottle of shampoo - 15 Fl. oz.
1 first aid kit (small, personal-sized, about 6” x 6”)
1 small roll blanket, 30” x 45”
1 rain poncho
2 toilet paper rolls
2 pairs of BRAND NEW underpants, esp. Lg. and XLg. (true for both men &
2 pairs of BRAND NEW socks (heavy white ones best—please no “shorties”)
2 - 4 feminine hygiene items
Lip balm (Chap stick or any brand)
Ready-to-eat individual food or snack items (individually wrapped, in pop-top cans, no cooking needed; nothing that would crumble when jammed into a backpack)
Drop off items in the vestibule
